More updates for our New Year....2012!
Reading Class 5th grade - Expectations:
- Daily homework is from the reading workbook.
- Vocabulary words will be in their notebook.
- We will journal about once a week.
- Suggested Reading List is in the back of the notebook.
- Vocabulary and Unit Tests will be every 5 to 6 weeks.
- SRC reading will be a minimum of 16 points a month/ 2 books a month.
- Reading at home/school should be almost a daily actiivity.
Reading Class 6th grade - Expectations:
- Daily homework is from the reading workbook.
- Vocabulary words will be in their notebook.
- We will journal about once a week.
- Suggested Reading List is in the back of the notebook.
- Vocabulary and Unit Tests will be every 5 to 6 weeks.
- SRC reading will be a minimum of 20 points a month/ 2 books a month.
- Reading at home/school should be almost a daily activity.
Reading/Literature Class 7th grade - Expectations:
- Daily homework could be from a vocabulary page, skill page, or quiet reading.
- Vocabulary words will be in their notebook.
- Suggested Reading List is in the back of the notebook.
- SRC reading will be a minimum of 24 points a month/2 books a month.
- Study the vocabulary words on a regular basis.
Reading/Literature Class 8th grade - Expectations:
- Daily work could be vocabulary page, skills, or quiet reading.
- Vocabulary wrods in their notebooks.
- Suggested Reading List is in the back of the notebook.
- SRC reading will be a minimum of 28 points/2 books a month.
- 8th graders should read one level 6 or higher book a month.
Reading Requirements for January - April will be posted:
- January - 8th grade reads a Multicultural Book
- January - 7th grade reads a Newbery Medal or Newbery Honor Book
- February - 8th grade reads a Classic
- February - 7th grade reads a Multicultural Book
- February - 6th grade reads a Newbery Medal or Honor Book
- March - 8th grade Nonfiction book
- March - 7th grade reads a Classic book
- March - 6th grade reads a Multicultural or a Nonfiction book
- April - 8th grade reads a level 8 or higher book
- April - 7th grade reads a Nonfiction book
