Grade 1 Skills and Activities for Week of Feb. 6-10
Religion	We will begin the Family Life Program.  There will NOT be weekly study guides.  There will be a weekly test but nothing to study at home. Chapter 1  Families   Chapter 2  Families Love & Help ***Bring your family photo by Friday.  It will be displayed in the hallway for a few weeks and then returned. ***Bring church envelope on Friday.

Phonics	Using high frequency words Introduce long u sound (ui, u+e, ue) Rhyming  & blending long u words Long or short u sound Writing long and short vowel words
Reading	Review vocab words Review long vowels, -er & -est Take Unit 4 Reading Test on Wednesday & Thursday
Math	Review Time to hour & half hour Estimate time Using a calendar Chapter review & practice ***We will begin to practice the harder addition facts to 18.  Please continue to practice flashcards for quickness.

Science	Teeth Food Pyramid
Social Studies	Unit 4 Review Abraham Lincoln
Spelling	Unit 21  Long a words ***Test over 10 spelling words and 5 sight words on Friday.

Extra News	***Mid-quarter reports will go home Friday.  Please sign & return. We will exchange valentines on Feb. 14 in the classroom. You may send a small treat with the valentine if you wish. Six Flags reading program due Wednesday, Feb. 15.
