Dear St. Agnes Families,
What a beautiful week! The students have been enjoying the sunny weather at recess.

Please keep our 2nd graders in your prayers as they will be having their First Holy Communion tomorrow, Saturday, April 10th.

St. Agnes will be kicking off the American Heart Association's, Kids Heart Challenge. It will run from April 12th to April 28th. A big thank you goes out to our Wellness team member Jackie Wolk who helped coordinate and plan this year's activities. Please see fliers that are in this week's Friday folders for more details.
Congratulations to our VFW Women's Auxillary contest winners. There were 369 students competing in the art contest. The first-place winners will move on to the state district contest.

5th - 8th-grade category:
1st place - Mara Hoog, 2nd place - Katie Vogt
3rd & 4th-grade category:
2nd place - Easton Rayoum
1st & 2nd-grade category:
1st place Emmett Wolk, 2nd place Carter Shuh

This year the Auxillary put on a singing contest. Students sent a video of themselves sending the National Anthem. 2nd grader Paisley Huck took 2nd place.

Our virtue for the month of April is Humility. Ways to teach children humility:

- Model the behavior...
- Build them up...
- Encourage kids to admit mistakes...
- Promote understanding of others' perspectives
- Discourage the attitude of entitlement
- Foster appreciation towards life...
- Willingness to control pride...
- Expand sense of self...
- Knowing they can always improve...
Continue to pray for our 8th graders as they are preparing for Confirmation. They have been sharing information about the patron saint that they have chosen during morning announcements.

The school will be open after all of the Masses this weekend. Come on in and see the plans for the 1938 building. Building committee members will be on hand to answer questions. The students were all a buzz reading the display that Mrs. Hoog put up in the cafeteria. I look forward to seeing you after Mass.

Blessings,
Debra Klahs, Principal
